BELVOIR batsman Mick Spiteri produced a devastating knock to put the Eagles in a competitive position against St Patrick's at Xavier High School.

With the visitors in dire trouble at 4-20, Spiteri single-handedly turned the match on its head with a breathtaking 144 in a total of 231.He peppered the boundary with a series of pull shots and drives and said it was a day where everything came off."We were in a bit of trouble at one stage so it was good to make a few," Spiteri said.

Josh Freake was the next highest scorer with 33.St Patrick's will resume at 2-35 after losing Heath Naughton and Grant Ellis before stumps.
